Buying an issue or subscribing
How checkout works, previews, and the difference between monthly and annual.
Previews
Most paid issues include a free preview of the first few pages. When the preview ends, the purchase panel appears with the options the creator has enabled.
Single issue or subscription
- Single issue: a one-off payment that gives you permanent access to that edition.
- Monthly subscription: suits titles that publish more than once a month.
- Annual subscription: better value for titles that publish monthly or less often.
Payment is taken on a secure Stripe checkout page. Card details are never handled by Joy of Mags. Access is granted as soon as the payment confirms — usually within a couple of seconds.
Receipts, changes and cancellation
- Receipts are emailed by Stripe for every payment and renewal.
- Cancel a subscription at any time; access continues to the end of the period you have paid for.
- If a payment fails, the subscription is marked past due and retried automatically before access pauses.
Common questions
- Can I get a refund?
- Refunds for single issues and subscriptions are handled by the creator selling the title, since they are the seller of record. Contact them from their profile page, and contact us if you cannot reach them.
- I paid but the issue is still locked.
- Reload the issue page. If it is still locked after a minute, check your email for a Stripe receipt and contact support with it — access can be restored manually.
- Which currency is used?
- Prices are shown and charged in pounds sterling.
