How to report infringing content on Joy of Mags and how we handle notices and counter-notices.
1. Reporting infringement
Send notices to abuse@joyofmags.com with the subject "Copyright notice".
- Identify the work you own and the exact page or issue URL on Joy of Mags.
- Confirm you are the rights holder or authorised to act for them, with contact details.
- State that you believe in good faith that the use is not authorised, and that the information is accurate.
2. What we do
- We acknowledge notices within two working days.
- Valid notices result in the content being withdrawn from sale and the catalogue, normally within five working days.
- The creator is told what was removed and why, and is given a copy of the notice with personal contact details redacted where possible.
- Where the issue has been purchased, unlawful content is removed outright; otherwise it is archived so existing buyers keep the access they paid for, pending resolution.
3. Counter-notice
A creator who believes the removal was mistaken may submit a counter-notice identifying the content, explaining why it was lawfully published, and providing contact details. If we receive one, we pass it to the complainant and may restore the content unless legal proceedings are commenced.
4. Repeat infringers
Accounts subject to repeated substantiated notices lose selling privileges and may be terminated.
5. Other complaints
Non-copyright complaints — defamation, privacy, unflagged mature content, harassment — should also go to abuse@joyofmags.com and are handled under the Acceptable Use and Content Standards policy.
