1. Who we are

Joy of Mags is a digital magazine platform. It lets creators publish PDF magazines as online flipbooks and lets readers browse, buy and read them.

In these terms, "we", "us" and "Joy of Mags" mean the operator of the platform; "you" means the person using it. You can reach us at hello@joyofmags.com.

2. Accounts and eligibility

• You must be at least 16 years old to create an account. We collect a date of birth at sign-up and block registrations below that age.
• Content marked as mature (18+) is only available to signed-in account holders aged 18 or over.
• You are responsible for keeping your password confidential and for everything done through your account.
• You must give accurate registration information and keep it up to date. We may suspend accounts that we reasonably believe contain false age or identity information.

3. Creator content

Creators keep all intellectual property rights in the magazines they upload. By publishing on Joy of Mags you grant us a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free licence to host, convert, cache, display and transmit your files for the purpose of operating the platform, and to display covers and extracts in the catalogue and in previews.

That licence ends when you remove the content, except where we must retain a copy so that readers who have already purchased an issue keep the access they paid for, or where the law requires us to keep records.

4. Reader access and purchases

• Free issues can be read by anyone the creator has made them available to.
• Paid issues may offer a limited free preview. Full access requires a one-off purchase or an active subscription to the publication.
• Access is a personal, non-transferable licence to read the issue on Joy of Mags. It is not a sale of the file and does not include rights to redistribute, resell or republish.
• Purchases are between you and the creator. Joy of Mags provides the platform and payment infrastructure; the creator is the seller of the magazine.
• Issues you have bought remain readable in your library even if the creator later leaves the platform or removes the title from sale.

5. Acceptable use

Use of the platform is subject to our Acceptable Use and Content Standards policy. Breaching it may result in content removal, loss of selling privileges or account termination.

6. Availability and changes

• We aim to keep the service available but do not guarantee uninterrupted access; maintenance, faults and third-party outages happen.
• We may change features, and we may change these terms. Material changes will be notified in the app or by email before they take effect.

7. Liability

Nothing in these terms limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, or for anything else that cannot lawfully be limited. Subject to that, we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, for lost profits or goodwill, or for content published by creators. Our total liability to you in any 12-month period is limited to the greater of the amounts you paid through the platform in that period and £100.

8. Termination

You may close your account at any time from Profile settings. We may suspend or terminate accounts that breach these terms or the Acceptable Use policy, or where we are legally required to do so. On termination, purchased reading access is preserved where we are able to do so; creator listings are withdrawn from sale.

9. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales have exclusive jurisdiction, without affecting any mandatory consumer rights in your country of residence.
