Put an issue on your own site

1. 1Open the title in the Studio and click the issue you want to show.
2. 2Scroll to “Embed on a website” in the issue settings.
3. 3Pick a height, copy the code, and paste it into a page on your own site or blog.

The embedded reader shows the title and issue name, the page controls sit below the pages, and a “Read on Joy of Mags” link takes visitors to the full page. It only works while the issue is published and publicly readable — private, unpublished and paid-only issues will not open for visitors.

Reads that happen on other websites are counted separately in your statistics, so you can see how much of your audience comes from your own site.

Letting readers download the PDF

Downloads are off by default. In the issue settings, turn on “Let readers download the PDF” to add a download button to the reader. For a paid issue you can also insist that only people who have bought it may download.

• Free issue with downloads on: anyone reading it can save a copy.
• Paid issue with downloads on and buyers only: the button appears once the reader has bought it.
• Leaving downloads off keeps the issue readable in the browser only.

Making older issues searchable

New uploads have their pages read automatically so readers can search the words inside them. For issues published before this existed, open Settings, go to Integrations and use “Read older issues”. It works through your back catalogue and tells you if any file could not be read.
