Teams and private titles
Members-only titles
Keep a title visible only to invited readers or people with an access code.
What members-only means
A members-only title is hidden from the public catalogue, from search and from the sitemap. Anyone following a direct link who is not a member simply sees that the content is unavailable. It applies to the whole title, not issue by issue.
Members-only titles are available on the Indie plan and above.
Setting one up
- In Title settings, set who can see the title to members only.
- Open Audience for that title in the Studio.
- Invite readers by email, or share the title's access code with your organisation.
- Publish the title so unlocked members see it in their library.
Readers unlock a title either from their emailed invitation or by entering the access code on the title's join page. Once unlocked, it appears in a Members only section of their library.
Common questions
- Can I charge for a members-only title?
- Yes — members-only controls who can see it, and pricing still works as normal on top of that.
- Can I revoke someone's access?
- Yes, from the Audience page for that title. You can also rotate the access code to cut off anyone who has passed it around.
