Getting paid
Connecting your payout account, verification times and when money arrives.
Connect your payout account
Selling is opt in. Go to Profile settings, then Payments, and connect a Stripe account. Stripe collects your business and bank details directly — Joy of Mags never sees them.
Verification
Stripe verifies new accounts before money can move. This usually takes minutes but can take up to two working days. Until verification completes you can set prices, but payments cannot be taken and your paid issues stay unavailable for purchase.
When you get paid
- Payments for your issues and subscriptions go to your connected account.
- Payout timing and any fees are set by Stripe and shown in your Stripe dashboard.
- Refunds and chargebacks are handled through the same account.
Common questions
- Payments say unavailable even though I connected Stripe.
- Verification is probably still outstanding. Open the Payments panel and follow the Stripe prompt to supply the missing details; the status updates automatically once Stripe approves it.
